Essentia Health St. Mary?s Detroit Lakes Clinic is pleased to announce that two providers have joined its team. Sashank Pokhrel, MD, practices with the Family Medicine Department, and Clarissa Dumdei, NP, is now part of the Geriatrics Department.
Dr. Pokhrel received his medical degree from B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Nepal and completed his family medicine residency at Grand Rapids Family Medicine Residency Program in Grand Rapids, MI. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Family Physicians, and the Minnesota Academy of Family Physicians.
As a family medicine physician, he focuses on adolescent, adult medicine and pediatric care.
Dr. Pokhrel enjoys soccer, tennis, basketball, football, and he loves to travel and visit his sister and friends.
Clarissa Dumdei received her degree as an Adult Nurse Practitioner from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD.
Clarissa will be working with Dr. William Henke in the Geriatrics Department/Department of Older Adult Services at Essentia Health St. Mary?s Detroit Lakes. She will visit patients at area nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
For the past five years, Clarissa has worked as a public health nurse for Cass County Home Care in Walker, MN. She now resides in Frazee with her husband, Andrew, and enjoys golfing, fishing, camping and traveling.
