I wanted to puke this morning when we took my daughter (a recreation department cheerleader) to her last game, the "Super Bowl" and before the game they had a high school student pray over the intercom.
It went something like this "Dear lord, thank you for getting us all here safely, please help these children play their best and stay safe during these games and help them remember that they are playing or your glory alone lord, yada yada".....it continued on, but I couldn't hear it over my whispering to my husband after that.
And then to make it better, these insane parents spent the entire game yelling things like "Knock him on his ass!" and "Kill him!!" (seriously).
Oh, and did I mention this was a 5/6 year old game?
Luckily, I watched my daughter during the prayer and she was talking. Her coach is a friend of mine and I think she knew better than to say anything to her.
